A beautiful day to be birding, although at times it seemed as if there were as many people--including birders--as birds. I admit to being a little disappointed that I didn't find another one or two warbler species; I really thought I had a decent chance for a parula, or ovenbird, or c. yellowthroat, but....
A couple of areas had large numbers of songbirds. My favorites today:
Louisiana Waterthrush (5)
Palm Warbler (26)
Pine Warbler (8)
Yellow-Rumped Warbler (45)
Yellow-Throated Warbler (8)
White-Eyed Vireo (2)
Blue-Headed Vireo (1)
Red-Breasted Nuthatch (1)
Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher (22)
Golden-Crowned Kinglet (1)
Ruby-Crowned Kinglet (25)
Broad-Winged Hawk (1)
Kestrel (1)
All good birding wishes,
Tim Houghton
