Subject: [MDBirding] Walk in Sligo Creek Park
Lisa and I took a walk this morning in Sligo Creek Park near Piney Branch
Road. The best species was Brown Creeper, with three separate sightings of
individuals at close range spiraling up trees, and occasionally calling.
Other nice birds we saw were 7 Purple Finches (3 males and 4 females) high
in a tree feeding, a Common Loon that we sighted high in the sky while
looking at the finches, a pair of Wood Ducks seemingly checking out nesting
sites, and the first Brown Thrasher of the spring. It is a gorgeous day to
be outdoors.

Chimney Swifts have returned to the neighborhood as of Thursday.
