Great! The pair north of Dennis ave had one bird on nest and one standing guard yesterday afternoon. That nest looks pretty flimsy, too...

Hi all,

Thanks to Chris W.& Ann H. for the sightings of the herons. I went to Sligo Creek,@ Schuyler Dr and walked to the pedestrian bridge that crosses sligo Creek and stood in the middle looking upstream. There the pair were about 75 feet up in the 6th Poplar tree on the right hand side. They displayed and mated at the nest site.
(Hint: the female is the one with the duskier crown.)

The nest isn't very far along, but I guess they're going at their own pace. Just hoping that a windy day doesn't take it down.
