Jim Green and I birded in southern Maryland today, mostly in Calvert County. Our best birds were at our first and last stops, but we had a lot of welcome first-of-year migrants in between.

North Beach Marsh, Calvert 2 Blue-winged Teal 6 Green-winged Teal
Ferry Landing Rd, Dunkirk, Calvert 1 Greater Yellowlegs 1 Lesser Yellowlegs 1 White-eyed Vireo 1 Ovenbird 1 Yellow-throated Warbler.
Lower Marlboro, Calvert 1 Chimney Swift
Smoky Rd. Calvert Many recent arrivals included White-eyed Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Ovenbird, Yellow-throated Warbler, Northern Parula, Black-and-white Warbler, and Prairie Warbler. A female Pine Warbler was building a nest over the path.
Benedict, Charles County 2 Forster's Terns 6 Royal Terns 2 Purple Martins
Indian Creek WMA, Charles Fairly quiet. A few Horned Larks, Prairie Warblers, Savannah Sparrows, and Field Sparrows.
