Subject: [MDBirding] Kenilworth
After yesterday's great report by Scott Loss, I was surprised to only run
into one other birder at the Kenilworth parks in DC today, but they must
have known something I didn't. The birding was fairly slow.

Migrants were scarce and the cold northwest wind that kicked up around 9am
shut down and drowned out most of the singing. Of note at the Aquatic
Gardens were 1 Common Yellowthroat, 1 Eastern Kingbird and 1 Spotted
Sandpiper. A good number of Swamp Sparrows are still singing along the
boardwalk.

At Kenilworth Park, the grasslands still held 4 EASTERN MEADOWLARKS, 18
Savannah Sparrows and 4 AMERICAN PIPITS. I looked without success for the
Grasshopper Sparrow Scott found yesterday by the abandoned restrooms. Also
had a single Golden-crowned Kinglet, which e-bird flagged as rare.
