Subject: [MDBirding] Kenilworth, Rock Creek
At Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens this afternoon were a pair of Blue-winged Teal, A Greater Yellowlegs, several BG gnatcatchers, and a flock with a Gnatcatcher, both kinglets, and a very bright Yellow Palm Warbler. Heading over to Kenilworth Park with Sharon (last name?) we found a Kestrel and 4 Savannah Sparrows. At Bladensburg Waterfront park, we had 4 Chipping Sparrows (FOY for me) and another gnatcatcher. Later at a bridge over a Rock Creek tributary along Beach Rd., we saw a pair of (silent) Louisiana Waterthrushes, one of which was carrying a leaf, possibly a display or nesting material. A nice finish to the day was a calling Barred Owl at the same spot.
