Subject: [MDBirding] Bald eagle cam in DC and possible nesting Peregrines
2 great pieces of bird news for the District.

The bald eagle cam is up and running. The live stream camera is on one of two active bald eagles nests in DC. His nest is located on the training grounds for the Metropolitan Police Department. MPD and chief Lanier have been amazingly supportive. The cam is a joint effort between several organizations, including Earth Conservation Corps, Wings over America, and national geographic. The webcam can be seen on the Nat Geo website. Search for DC eagle cam. There are 2 chicks who are very photogenic.

The second bit of news is that there may be peregrine falcons nesting on the south capital street bridge. A raptor handler from ECC said the pair has been exhibiting all types of courtship/mating behavior. Both birds are banded. I was going to check the bridge and confirm tomorrow
