We arrived at Turkey Point as the weather cleared and walked with friends to the lighthouse. Along the way we saw a pair of mating toads (still at it as we left!), a black rat snake, and our FOS zebra swallowtail.
Bleu-gray Gnatcatchers seemed to be along the entire length of the walk, and I heard at least one or two Northern Parulas. Otherwise the most vocal birds were the usuals out there: Cardinals and Carolina Wrens.
There are patches of violets and spring beauty, too. Pat Valdata Elkton, MD
