I popped into the park today on my way home from Harford County Airport. There were Northern Parulas all along Stafford Road, and I saw a Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher putting the finishing touches on the interior of its nest near the picnic area. At one pullout along Stafford (the one that has a small bench on the hilside) I heard what I am pretty sure was a Hooded Warbler.
Tried for the Northern Waterthrush and didn't see anything but as I was leaving in my car I heard a musical song that may have been it.
Virginia Bluebells are blooming profusely, along with Spring Beauty and Violets. Gorgeous!
I also saw a white car with windows open being driven very slowly and assume that was a birder. Pat Valdata Elkton, MD
