Kevin Graff and I were at Milford Mill this morning and saw our first-of-year WOOD THRUSH. A BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER and a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER may have been the same birds I observed on Tuesday. After Kevin left, I saw a / another BLUE-HEADED VIREO, which I've seen since April 13, and a male AMERICAN REDSTART. I heard a WARBLING VIREO calling from along the stream.
Later, at Cromwell Valley Regional Park, there were a male ORCHARD ORIOLE in a large leafy (maple?) tree over the house near the bridge and an EASTERN KINGBIRD in a nearby sycamore. On the way to the kiln a YELLOW WARBLER was singing and being very yellow, distracting me from the WARBLING VIREO which I had wanted to see earlier.
