(Skip this if you already received a similar note at the Harford Bird Club list.)

What an enjoyable morning and early afternoon at Susquehanna today. I had 6 birds, here, I haven't had so far:

Yellow-Throated Vireo (1, Mill)
Warbling Vireo (3)
Red-Eyed Vireo (2)
Black-Throated Green Warbler (3, 2 at Picnic Area)
Black-Throated Blue Warbler (2, at Picnic)
Worm-Eating (1, at a usual spot on the slope on Stafford Road btw fishing bridge and Mill)

My favorite was the Worm--always fun to get this sometimes elusive fellow. Singing and at eye level for a time. Beautiful.

The ascendant Ovenbirds are now in charge of Craig's Corner Rd., having relegated the Louisianas (old news) to emeritus status.

The Yellow-Throated Warblers were noticeably quieter today--the quietest I've found them since they arrived this spring. 13 of the 15 warbler species could be found at or near the Picnic Area. Redstarts in their usual spot in the woods behind the parking lot and pines. Black-Throated Greens and Blues also there. And Prairie and C. Yellowthroat. Parulas continue--high numbers. EBird might consider fine-tuning its high-count filter for this place at this time, especially for the abundant Parula, the Ovenbird, and Louisiana (which is widespread in this large park and could turn up nearly everywhere.) It's like this every spring here.

I was hoping for Blue-Winged and Cerulean today; they should be here any day. May already be. They've been found in MD, and this is a wonderful spot for both. And much more to come.

Nothing else terribly noteworthy. Wednesday I had a Scarlet Tanager on the Wildflower Trail.
