While looking at some more common birds in the yard this AM, we were stunned to come across an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER foraging actively fairly high up in mature trees. At first the rapid movements and dull green color made us think of Ruby-cr Kinglet, but soon the complete absence of wing-bars or eye-ring, or any kind of marking, plus an almost absurdly thin bill, indicated this species. Yard bird 128, and new for Calvert - almost new for the state.

We have fewer migrants than we had in Bowie, but some very lucky ones.
