Nothing really too unusual either with only 1 new neotrop, a heard only Great-crested Flycatcher. I did have 4 Common Loons and 4 DC Cormorants flyover (the loons heading due north and the corms heading NE), a couple of Broad-winged Hawks, 1 American Kestrel, Cooper's Hawk, RT Hawk, an adult Bald Eagle fairly low and carrying prey (heading SE), a continuing adult White-crowned Sparrow, 2 flyover Great Blue Herons, several Brown Thrashers including the pair that are nesting in the yard, but virtually no other real migrants (except for huge numbers of passing Blue Jays). Tree and Barn Swallows are both back. White-throated sparrows still here, and Chipping Sparrow numbers are strong. A towhee has been steadily singing for several days.

Yesterday also brought my FOS for both orioles, but only very briefly then they moved on. Including yesterdays species, I have had 46 for the weekend, so far.

Hey Frank,
We haven't seen any Purples this spring, but that one lingering White-crowned is pretty amazing. Has been here since December 23, off and on, feeding right outside the kitchen windows, on the ground. I would have thought it would've been gone by now. It really is a weird spring. Cool and unseasonable so far, methinks.

Best, Rick
