Subject: [MDBirding] New to Maryland (Annapolis); looking for tips!
Hi,

I'm moving from Ohio to Annapolis in mid-June (to join the faculty at the US Naval Academy) and am eager to learn where the best birding hotspots are in Anne Arundel and its vicinity. My 'specialty' (so to speak) is Raptors and Owls. I've usually got my camera handy with a 400mm lens attached to keep a respectful distance--you can see my handiwork on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/noahcomet/

From my few preliminary visits to the area I've already gathered that Annapolis is Osprey central---there appears to be an active nest less than a quarter-mile from where I'll be living--excited about that!

Anyone know of reliable spots for Owls in the area? Quiet Waters? Any and all advice will be very much appreciated---and gladly exchanged for Ohio tips, should you be headed this way!

Best,
Noah
