Hi all,

Rather cold and breezy and unfortunately also rather quiet at KAG this morning. We did have two Firsts of Season (Green Heron and White-eyed Vireo) but not much action and even birds that we are sure are around were silent. No Catbirds, only one Swamp sparrow singing. Most unusual was a large flock (of at least 30) Laughing Gulls wheeling high overhead, calling loudly, and then drifting off to the NW -- on migration obviously. Also a large number of Rough-winged Swallows feeding over the ponds and river. Only 4 warbler species and 3 of these were heard-only...

When doing my eBird list, I had to call up "show rarities" for the Laughing Gulls -- was amused to note that Passenger Pigeon is also listed as "rare."
