Hi All,

So, there still hasn't been very much around, but I'm hoping today's slightly better warbler turnout in Patterson Park may be signaling a turnaround in what has been a remarkably un-birdy week or so for me.

Today I had to take my SATs (no fun on such a nice day!!), but when I came out I had a voicemail from Dave Curson saying that he had a HOODED WARBLER and a BALTIMORE ORIOLE among other new migrants at Patterson Park. Miles and Rose Anderson confirmed both of these as well. So I ran down to the park to check it out. I did not find those two species, they probably took off during the noise that is the Kinetic Sculpture Race, but I did find two beautiful and loud YELLOW WARBLERS, an OVENBIRD, a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER and my FOY PRAIRIE WARBLER. All were flitting between the Bald Cypress trees and the little wetland garden just up the slope on the north side of the Boat Lake.

Tomorrow evening I'm leading a walk at North Point; I'm hoping the increasing birdyness continues!!

Good Birding,

Mike H.
Baltimore City
