Had a great bike ride yesterday afternoon and had a few good birds too. Stars were two Nashville Warblers singing at each other near the pond at Riley's. Of course the Prothonotarys were out in force as well. We saw 6 mostly close to Riley's and have photos of a mother feeding young at the first nest box after Riley's Lock. Also great views of family of Wood Ducks (mother plus 11 babies) in the swampy area just past the pond. A White-eyed Vireo popped out in the same area as well as a Green Heron. Closer to Swain's Lock we watched a Red-tail chasing a Red-shoulder who was carrying a snake. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the outcome. Several Baltimore Orioles were singing away along the route as well. Lucy Uncu Falls Church
