Subject: [MDBirding] DC: Possible Glossy Ibis at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

Hi all,

I too have to agree that this morning was the best migrant birding day of the
year so far. I was at Ft. DuPont at 9am after seeing great radar returns from
the previous night at
http://people.mbi.ohio-state.edu/hurtado.10/US_Composite_Radar/ ,
but thought that I might be too late in the morning. I was quite mistaken, as I
came across a plethora of warblers and other migrants singing until well past
11am. I also had the pleasure of running into David Caldwell, and we birded
together, figuring that four eyes are better than two.

Several FOY for me, including:

Eastern Wood-Pewee
Great Crested Flycatcher
White-eyed Vireo
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Scarlet Tanager
Baltimore Oriole

Afterwards I went to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, hoping that my luck would
continue. I ran into David Gibbons on the way in, who reported seing six GLOSSY
IBIS in the marsh off the first turnoff on the boardwalk. Unfortunately, they
were gone by the time I could look for them.

The red throated Loon seen at KAG Sunday and Monday was not there, nor was the
Little Blue Heron that was there yesterday.

 Good birding,
