Singing Black-throated Blue, Black-and-white and N Parula warblers in our yard induced me to walk a 1.5 mile stretch of Sligo Creek in late morning. Several wood thrushes, ovenbirds, N. Parula and Black-throated blues were heard but not seen; C. Yellowthroat, Yellow-throated Vireo, catbirds, Yellow-crowned Night heron (near nest north of Dennis Ave), pileated woodpecker were observed, plus many usual suspects.

Several new birds, not so remarkable in themselves, arrived here all at once this AM:

Gr Catbird
Am Redstart
C Y'throat

Also, at nearby Ferry Landing Park, there was renewed activity. In a short visit I had -

Y-bill Cuckoo
Downy Wpkr
Red-b Wpkr
Red-eye Vireotoo numerous to count
WARBLING VIREO (v scarce bird in CV, no doubt passing thru)
Gr Cr Flycatcher
Yellow-thr Warbler ~4 (signature bird here)
N Parula
Ovenbird
Hooded Warbler2
Scarlet Tanager
E Towhee3

Oddly, no Wood Thrush heard.

This sad news - overnight, the local 'coon took out both our yard's C Wren and Bluebird nests. The chickadee's survived, so far.
