Taylor, if you're driving in, it's the big wetland impoundment on the left side of the road. Walk around to the back corner and the bird was swimming below Wood Duck box #9. Occasionally it disappeared in the reeds, but was visible (and close!) for about 75% of the time. Everyone present this evening got excellent views.
Great find, Josh! Aside from the phalarope, we also had Snowy Egrets (another Josh find), a late American Bittern, Common Gallinule/King Rail/Virginia Rail (heard only), 4 Great Egrets, early Semi Sandpipers, and 2 Great Horned Owls hooting along the entrance road on the way out. There were 6 flags on my eBird checklist.
