Subject: [MDBirding] Baltimore/Harford highlights (Summer Tanager)
This morning, at Holt Park in eastern Baltimore County, I experienced what was probably the most warblers I've ever had at one time. Heidi Trasatti and Ryan Johnson were with me and we couldn't keep up with everything. Highlights:

SUMMER TANAGER - 1 first-spring male, initially spotted by Ryan; rare in the county, and my first at the park
Scarlet Tanager - 3+
Blackburnian Warbler - 3+, singing throughout the woods, 2 males seen
Magnolia Warbler - 5
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 1
Black-throated Green Warbler - 10
Black-throated Blue Warbler - 8
Blackpoll Warbler - 1
Warbling Vireo - 1, my first at the park
Least Flycatcher - 1, my first at the park
Eastern Wood-Pewee - 1
Swainson's Thrush - 2
Veery - 3
Yellow-billed Cuckoo - 2
Pileated Woodpecker - 1, also had 1 here last night which was my first at the park
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 3+, flagged as late

Heidi and I went to Swan Harbor to find the phalarope, which wasn't there, but there were some other good birds there. Highlights:

SNOWY EGRET - 2 continuing in the wetland impoundment
COMMON GALLINULE - 2 in the wetland impoundment; 1 trumpeted, echoed immediately by a 2nd bird maybe 5-10 feet away
Great Egret - 1
Least Bittern - 1 singing behind the blind

Final stop was Susquehanna State Park. Highlights at Rock Run/mill:

Canada Warbler - 1
Cerulean Warbler - 2
Blackpoll Warbler - 1
Black-throated Green Warbler - 2
Black-throated Blue Warbler - 2
Blue-winged Warbler - 1
Yellow-throated Vireo - 1
Eastern Wood-Pewee - 1

I had to go to work late and didn't have time to visit the picnic area. Other birders at Susquehanna reported 1 Blackburnian, 1 Bay-breasted, and "many" Chestnut-sided Warblers this morning.
