My husband Jim and I spend an enjoyable but exhausting day. We tallied 22 warbler species at Susquehanna. Favorites were a nice CAPE MAY WARBLER at the new Chat field, NORTHERN WATRTHRUSH at Deer Creek, and a not very co-operative WILSON's WARBLER in the grove of trees near the parking lot entrance, as well as a CHESTNUT SIDED, (close to the pond). Great looks at a singing KENTUCKY WARBLER. Lots of BLACKPOLLS, PARULAS and BLACK THROATED BLUES. It seems like the Red Phalarope at Swan Hrbor is gone, but we heard and had great looks at the COMMON GALLINULE. Surprisingly, no rails or bitterns. The 2 SNOWY EGRETS remain, and 2 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS (listed as rare in e-bird), kept company with the LEAST SANDPIPERS. An ORCHARD ORIOLE made an appearance, with a female carrying nesting material.
