Subject: [MDBirding] Great day, CAS Birdathon at Susquehanna/Swan Harbor, 5/12
Yesterday, as part of the Chesapeake Audubon Birdathon (to raise money for different projects), Kye Jenkins and I began the day at Susquehanna State Park, and we were lucky enough to hit nice pockets of birds very early. We had most warbler species in about 2 hours--in just under 4 hours we had 24 warbler species. We left just as the wind picked up. We had 82 species total. We then left for Swan Harbor and found some cool birds there before going to Delaware. For the day we had 125 species.

Some Susquehanna birds, including all warblers:

Turkey (1)
Caspian Tern (4)
Acadian Flycatcher (9)
Pewee (5)
Blue-Headed Vireo (1)
Swainson's Thrush (2)
Scarlet Tanager (4)
Baltimore Oriole (7)

Ovenbird (14)
Worm Eating Warbler (2)
Louisiana Waterthrush (9)
Northern Waterthrush (1)
Blue-Winged Warbler (3)
Black-and-White Warbler (3)

Black-Throated Green Warbler (4)

Alas, no Brewster's Warbler, no Hooded Warbler, no Mourning Warbler. Some of the nice birds at Swan Harbor:

Great Egret (1, back marsh by woods)
