Subject: [MDBirding] 42-degree summer at Governor's Bridge this am (P.G. Co.), etc.

If it isn't obvious by now, bird the piedmont! I say that of course because there continues to be virtually no non-breeding migrants in coastal plain haunts this year, at least not the ones I visit. I birded Susquehanna SP and Swan Harbor Farm Park yesterday and it was very good; had many of the same species Tim mentioned including the GLIB, SNEG and SORA at Swan Harbor. We had 16 species of warblers at Susquehanna, including several good looks at Cerulean Warblers and Warbling and Yellow-throated Vireos, lost of Orioles, my first Blue-winged Warbler of the year in MD as well as my first Canada Warbler of the year. Most of the birds were very high and flightly and it was quite windy. I guess I haven't quite figured out how to bird this park to the fullest yet, although we did have 70 species here for the morning.

It was a beautiful but chilly morning at Governor's Bridge Nat. Area with most of the breeders going about their business on territory. Saw a pair of Prothonotary Warblers exchanging food and great, albeit brief, looks at a singing Yellow-breasted Chat and a handful of migrant warblers. List for this morning below, 42 species in about an hour.

Good Birding,
