Subject: [MDBirding] Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Siskin at feeder
Hi --

Just returned from St. Louis (big dog show week with no birds to speak of, having seen the famous Tree Sparrows on an earlier visit). Very cold there and very cold here as well. A short trip to Wheaton Regional Park this morning yielded nothing beyond the local breeders (lots of Balto. Orioles, Parulas, Great Cresteds, Red-eyes etc. etc.). The main excitement was home at our feeders where a cracking male Rose-breasted Grosbeak has been visiting and singing up a storm, plus a lone Pine Siskin at the thistle. Also a male Great Crested seems to be checking out holes in an old locust tree.

Warmer weather and better winds later in the week may be rewarding...
