My first of year male RTHB was observed this morning�NOT on the feeder, but sampling among Rhododendron blossoms.� Later he [assuming it was the same one] did put in an appearance at the feeder.

Twice�in the past week to 10 days�I have observed 2 Great Blue Herons in tandem flight in this area.� In both case it did appear that the birds were intentionally flying together.� I've never observed this behavior prior to these two instances.
