Subject: [MDBirding] Mourning Warbler - Pierce Mill, Rock Creek Park
I first heard singing loudly and then saw clearly a male MOURNING WARBLER this morning (6:30 am) at Pierce Mill in Rock Creek Park. The bird was north of the mill near the north parking lot and right along the creek. It was about 10 feet off the ground in a small tree acting more like a redstart than a mourning warbler.

Birded several spots in Rock Creek Park and put together my first 20+ warbler species day for DC (21 species total); other than the Mourning, nothing new, but notable were several CANADAS, at least two WILSON'S, and at least 3 BLACKBURNIANS.
