Subject: [MDBirding] Yard birds; BOBO, OSFL
Hi all,
On Thursday morning, a small flock of Bobolinks flew over heading NE, saw and heard a male Indigo Bunting, Scarlet Tanager flying over, and my FOS Green Heron for the yard was circling my neighbors pond before landing.

Yesterday evening, I was deck sitting after work and watched a pair of Great-crested Flycatchers, with one checking out my Screech Owl box. They flew into my old veggie garden where they put on a nice show for scope views, sitting in perfect sunlight. Also had a very hungry E. Kingbird in the trees around the yard last evening, flycatching insects then landing in the treetops again and again.

This morning I overslept and when I finally made it out to the deck with coffee, I saw a perched bird in the dead snags at the back of the yard. All I could really see with bins was a whitish looking rump, so I thought maybe a flicker, but it didn't look right. I went in and got the scope and quickly got it on the bird, an OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER (with its back to me.) I was seeing the whitish wing patches. I ran back in to grab my cell phone for pics, but when I got back out it was gone. This was about 8:50 AM.

Also have been hearing a Field Sparrow all morning, and saw it sitting in the trees in the corner of the property, singing. Also an E. Phoebe singing this morning, which isn't really common here.

Warblers and vireos are few and far between.
