My husband Barry Cooper has been birding for over 60 years, he and his younger brother John got interested while accompanying their older brother Brian when he was getting his Boy Scouts nature badge. Brian identified the necessary 25 or so common birds, got his badge, and went on to other interests. Barry and John became completely hooked! This was in the UK and at that time, they biked everywhere to look for birds. Later it was motorbikes...
I became interested in high school and so that's been a long time as well <gr>. Birding has taken us to all 7 continents and over 40 countries...and still at it!
So many birds, so little time...
