There is nothing to replacing the eye cups. Just screw the old ones off, and then screw the new ones on. By the way, Bausch and Lomb has a great guarantee. A couple of years ago, the pair of Elites, that I had purchased in 1989 had developed several problems, including split eye cups, pealing rubber armour, and unstable interocular adjustment. I sent the bins to B&L with $10, and they replaced the eye cups and armour, fixed the interocular adjustment problem, cleaned all the external and internal surfaces, and collimated and aligned them. Took about six to eight weeks, however.
