Covered the area from Sycamore Landing to about two miles = downstream, north of TenFoot Island. Came back through the fields of = McKee-Beshers WMA(Montgomery Co) to the impoundments(Hughes Hollow) and = then to Sycamore Landing Road. Had 32 species on the regular count and added 8 on the return = trip. Highlights were 5 Pied-billed Grebes feeding around the remaining = mat of water starflower, 80-90 Rusty Blackbirds in the maples along = Sycamore Landing Road at the southern bridge, 9 Winter Wrens (again this = winter they are very common here), a Fox Sparrow(probably an = immature),and 3 Tree Sparrows. With all the open water ducks weren't = very common- only 3 blacks, 3 Common Goldeneyes, and 4 Buffleheads. The most interesting thing to me was the Red-bellied Woodpeckers, = Downy Woodpeckers, and Carolina Chickadees feeding on poison ivy = berries, and White-breasted Nuthatches feeding on hackberries.
