Had 30 species which is about = normal for this route. Highlights were an Eastern Phoebe at the = impoundments, 8 Winter Wrens and 10 White-breasted Nuthatches(a very = good winter for this species). Walked into the fields from the eastern most parking area on HQ = Rd.. There were 225-250 Rusty Blackbirds feeding in the corn stubble as = I entered the fields. Came back through the fields to the impoundments = and left. Added another 4 species on the return trip. My highlight was = an adult male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker hanging upside down on a thin = branch feeding on poison ivy berries. Earlier this winter I had seen = one perched upright on a small twig plucking wild grapes off the vine.
