Including: Field Sparrow Eastern Bluebirds (2 males) Red-Shouldered Hawk Ruddy Ducks Ring-Necked Ducks ( 4 males only: very tolerant--they swam and dove 10 feet from the shore I was squatting on) Gadwall (single female ) Nothing uncommon, but fun nonetheless. Also watched two immature Red-Tail Hawks along the roadsides of Columbia. One seemed very intent on finding something to eat, but never came up with anything. He even managed to get himself tangled in the brush for a few seconds, and seemed rather bothered that his wings restricted his movement while trying to catch the rodent on foot. Once he regained composure and soared at low level for a few labs around the intersection, he made a dive at some passing rock doves. Since they never changed their direction or franticness of their flight, I assumed they didn't feel threatened. I watched about 10 seemingly half-hearted, fruitless, attempts at prey in less than 5 minutes.
