Response has been excellent -- I won't say overwhelming because a few miles, mostly in Washington and Allegany Counties, are not yet firmly assigned, but certainly whelming. Much credit is again due to Ray Kiddy in Allegany County and Dianne Ingram of NPS in Washington County. We do expect coverage of all 184.5 miles. Most birders or teams are counting three one-mile segments; some are counting more. Reporting will be by mile segment. If interested in the remaining slots, or in teaming up with already assigned birders, contact Peter Vankevich by email at pvank@cais.net or telephone at (202) 547-4523. All participants will receive the complete report when compiled.
