Longspur location late this morning and = had good looks at the mixed flock on and alongside of Sparks Rd. That = road and the adjoining roads have now been plowed and Sparks road itself = is being well used by the flock. The species there included many Horned = Larks, about 20 or so Snow Buntings and several Lapland Longspurs. = There were probably more of each of those species around. It was really = enjoyable watching the Snow Buntings right in front of the car running = across the road and stopping sometimes right in the middle of the road. The fields along Clarks Lane were empty while I was there; however, I = had a small flock (about a dozen) of horned larks on Mason Branch Rd. = and separate from them three Snow Buntings right alongside that road.
