My wife and I visited the Sparks Road area shortly after noon today, and missed on Snow Buntings and Longspurs - but did see three small flocks of Horned Larks. Highlight of the day for that region was an Eastern Phoebe - in the yard of one of the houses along Sparks Road, and even lit on the porch rail of the house as we watched. May have been trying to get inside to get warm. A search along roads of Queen Anne's County, in particular, Little Eagle Road, produced a larger flock of Horned Larks - about 150 of them, and lots of Mourning Doves in the same field, but no Buntings or Longspurs. Another highlight over there was the 'in-the-road' viewing of eight Bob White Quail.
