Comments: To: MD-SMAS-GENERAL@list.audubon.org MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit January 26, 2000 A little bit of grass got exposed when the snow plow went around our cul-de-sac, and that was enough to attact a pipit this afternoon---the first I've ever seen in my neighborhood. I watched the bird for several minutes fairly close up. Unbelievably, it found and ate quickly a grub or caterpillar in a swatch of grass no bigger than half a desktop. The bird was very active, teetering well and no worse for storm wear. Thank you, Blizzard of 00. Location: De Lorme 29 A5 ADC Charles Co.
