Technically, the name, Oldsquaw, has not changed ... yet.

Virtually all ornithological/birding organizations in North American
reply
on the AOU for taxonomy standards, including names.  We understand,
unofficially, that the AOU has agreed to the change but until it is
published in a Supplement to the AOU Check-list, the "official" name is
still Oldsquaw.
