While we usually have dozens of JUNCOs and WHITE-THROATs in the yard digging through the skree pile, it is very seldom that we see them on the feeder which is about 5.5 feet off the ground. During the storm, they were fighting for their seat on the feeder with the regular attendees. We also had our regular TOWHEE (m) in the yard; he also made regular trips to the source. The highlight was the American Tree Sparrow. This is remarkable considering our townhouse yard is only a few square yards. This is the second one on the yard this year. One other regular visitor this past snow storm was the MELRIN. He made regular inspections of the feeder and its visitors about once an hour during the storm. After the storm subsided, he didn't come around as often, but we still caught glimpses of him darting around throughout the day.
