I have found many interesting reports on it and I hope I can contribute as well. Unfortunately, a trip to the Bywater Rd. fields in Annapolis on Saturday, 1/29 from 10:30 to 12:30 did not turn up the Lark Sparrow. However, in the field furthest from the apartment complex among 25 or so Field Sparrows were 2 Tree Sparrows. A Male Kestrel looked about as interested in them as I was. There were also 2 Brown Thrashers (pair?) together along the hedgerow between the fields. Walking back to my car, I noticed a Cooper's Hawk had flushed a few small brown birds in the back of thelarge field across the Road. A quick look revealed 30 or more Field Sparrows and a calling Eastern Towhee. Other than that, all I can say is that traipsing through the 12+" of snow was a good aerobic workout. I hope this is useful. -Mark Eanes PS A trip to Sandy Point State Park the previous weekend turned up 4 Snow Buntings, an American Pipit and a Lesser Black-backed Gull (3rd winter?) ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
