The bird life included a close view of a Red-shouldered Hawk as it sat on= a limb overhanging the Potomac and than glided below eye level along the shoreline. A Peregrine made several passes at the geese/ducks on the ice and in the water and than headed toward Virginia. Among the ducks the Peregrine missed were Redheads (about 10), Goldeneyes (2), Shovelers (2), and Green-winged Teals (3). The mammal life included one Muskrat swimmin= g in the Potomac and many mammal tracks in the snow. The Myrtle Warblers a= nd Bluebirds looked exceptionally bright feeding on top of the snow. Although I didn't get to see the Tufted Duck, the very close views at the Washington Marina of the Redheads, Canvasbacks and Greater & Lesser Scaup= s with their head colors glistening in the bright sun made the trip worthwhile.
