I found neither. Instead I found 2 Sno= w buntings and a single Lapland Longspur in with about 70 or so Horned Lark= s on Russel Road at the steepest part of the hill (If I had not left when I did, the snow plow probably would have killed me when it came over the hi= ll as I was stopped on the wrong side of the road to get a better look). Lo= ts of snow drifts on Saturday. On Sunday, I saw one of the Rough-legged hawks that Ray Kiddy rep= orted at North Branch. It was a dark-phase individual seen well, perched and in flight. I rolled by the Russel Road area in Garrett again Sunday evening and re-located one Lapland Longspur with about 20 or so Horned Larks but = no Snow buntings. There were 12 Wild Turkeys in a field on the left seen fr= om Michael Road as you first come out of the woods going down the big hill (looping counterclockwise).
