There are ducks all along that stretch of th= e river. I suspect that some ducks go someplace else to feed and late in th= e afternoon settle on the river to roost. The reason why I say that is that they seem to be more ducks on the water later in the day. I have not seen Shovelers there before. I have seen Shovelers at Bombay Hook, Blackwater and at the West Ocean City Pond. Maybe someone has seen them regularly closer to the DC area.
