The ponds in the Upper Marlboro area always host large numbers of Shovele=
rs,
and the circular swimming seems to be the norm when there are large numbe=
rs
of them.  Last year one pond had a flock of 85 -- that's quite a sight wh=
en
they are all spinning at once!  Unfortunately the ponds are all frozen no=
w.

Had 6 Fox Sparrows at my feeder the other day, Tree Sparrow still hanging=
 on
too.
