The report that it was seen yesterday (Mon) at 4:15 pm prompted me to get to the marina before dawn today (I live very close by), hoping that the bird spent the night there. Unfortunately it looks like the ducks slept elsewhere. Before it was even light I could barely make out small flocks of scaup flying into the area. By dawn there were about 100+ Lesser Scaup (plus the other usual suspects), but alas, the Tufted Duck was not among them. I left a little after 7:00 as I had to get to work. I'll check again this afternoon, if I can out of the office in time. I noticed a big dregding type of boat in the area this morning that I don't remember seeing last weekend.
