Not wanting to go TOO far afield, I just opted for a walk around the neighborhood, and it turned out to be very nice. I've heard some partial songs here and there by a few species lately, but today was the first day I've heard singing on this order: Mourning Dove, Northern Cardinal, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Chickadee, White-throated Sparrow (ok, they sing all year, but it's still nice) House Finch, Purple Finch. The local vulture roost (~100 Turkey, 60 Black) has had an adoption, it would appear. Last 3 times out there I have had a Red-shouldered Hawk within spitting distance of the bulk of the vultures. New experience for me. Now, back to bed. charlie ===== **************************************** Charlie Muise, Naturalist Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Maryland, USA "The English country gentleman galloping after a fox - the unspeakable in full pursuit of the uneatable" (Oscar Wilde) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
