Comments: To: VA-BIRD@list.audubon.org MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi Folks! This morning [Wednesday 2/9] work took me over towards the Potomac River, so I took a few minutes to look for the Tufted Duck. I viewed the river from the lighthouse at Fort Washington National Park [MD DeLorme 36, B3, VA DeLorme 77, C5] and saw the Tufted sleeping with a group of about 14 Leser Scaup about halway across the river towards Sheridan Pt., Fairfax Co. VA. This location is about 1.5 miles upriver from where it was seen Sunday. At the time the tide was heading out and the flock was slowly drifting downstream with the tide. A telescope is essential from this location. Most of the scaup are closer to the Virginia shore. Good Biring!
