VA Hospital Grounds- good river access, more visitor friendly than in past: ~2 dozen Canvasback Many Common Mergs and a single male Red-breasted Merg. Lesser Scaup- new for year. Logans Wharf: another small flock of Canvas Back and several male American Wigeon on the river leaving town. Conowingo Dam: An obliging Peregrine Falcon perched on a ledge to the right of the dam superstructure, hungrily eyeing the pigeons; the latter seemed oblivious to the fact that they could become a meal. An equally obliging Glaucous Gull perched on a rock below the spillway. Some folks from PA were present to locate the bird for us.
