Birds of note were six Fox Sparrows at the Point Lookout S.P. ranger headquarters feeder, two Tree Sparrows on the corner of Beachville and Grayson Road, and two Greater White-fronted Geese (GWFG) north of Park Hall. The GWFG were not on the right side of the road just north of Rt. 5 and 489 where previously found. They had moved up to near Hermanville Road and were in a field on the left side of the road. The easiest way to find these birds may be to look for large flock of Canada Geese near Park Hall. When you find the geese began scanning the flock and look for the two that have a white dividing line between the speckelled belly and gray back. I saw this long before I saw the head which shows the white-front and red bill. These animals were approximately 3/4 mile from the road and in a tight feeding flock. Using white dividing line guide I was able to find them easily without seeing the heads. There were about 2000 Canada Geese at the location the GWFG had been found previously but by searching the second flock up the road I found them. Good luck to anyone who is looking for these birds. There were also large numbers of waterfowl at Point Lookout. All three scoter species were quickly found, Bufflehead, Oldsquaw, Common Goldeneye, Common Loon, and Horned Grebe were well represented. I also had two Gadwall in the pond just north of the point.
