They are probably recently arrived migrants as none have been = seen here this winter. They were on the Baltimore County side of the = lake with 5 Canada Geese, 5 Green-winged Teal, 160 Mallards, 120 Black = Ducks, 5 Ring-necked Ducks, 1 Lesser Scaup, 1 Bufflehead, 4 Hooded = Mergansers, 13 Coots, 32 Ring-billed Gulls, and 1 Herring Gull. On the = Carroll County side were 350 Ring-bills and 1 Herring Gull. Also in Carroll County, at Piney Run Park, where the lake is 99% = frozen were 1 Great Blue Heron, 60 Canada Geese, 1 Wigeon, 300 Mallards, = 200 Black Ducks, 2 Canvasbacks, 2 Redheads, 1 Ring-necked Duck, 3 = Buffleheads, 4 Hooded Mergansers, 275 Coots, and 2 Ring-billed Gulls.
